Lovely Seventeen (寂寞的十七岁)

Lovely seventeen are written Kenneth Hsien-yung Pai (白先勇). This book is talk about the main character, a boy that bring along some feminine characteristics. He has been bullying in school and scold by his parents because he cannot reach his parent’s expectations. In the end, he is suicide.

After I had read this book, I feel a deep thoughts and feeling. I think sometime everyone will feel lonely in our life, these lonely are in our heart and it will not be gone even when there are people with you. These lonely come from we cannot find someone that really know us, we cannot really share out our true self.

From this book, I also think that the society in reality like a game, as long as the rules in society are accepted and would not have anyone doubt it, we will take the rule as naturally. Actually, there are no rules but just move of the people are accept and follow, so for who are against these rules will deemed to become freak in society although they are no wrong. The society that form by the most human which is some opinion will assimilate or exclude these “freak”. The society in the story is according the concept that the boys are given expectation and get the best result to win other people, then this only is a successful people.

I am always think that is someone lend a helping hand to main character, is the ending of story will be change? Maybe if the society could more accepted the guy who have some feminine characteristics, the ending will be change.
